Braemar on Parliament

Braemar on Parliament Street is a unique Bed and Breakfast establishment, being the only Victorian townhouse in the Auckland Central Business District still used as a residence. Built in 1901, it has been lovingly restored but with the addition of up to the minute technology for comfort and convenience. Braemar was originally built as a family home and our restoration has maintained the integrity of that original design, with all the guest bedrooms upstairs, shared lounges on the central entrance floor, and the kitchen and dining-room downstairs.

All rooms are furnished with comfort in mind, but reflecting the elegance of days gone by. We have four guest rooms, the Batten Suite comprising three rooms ( bedroom, bathroom and lounge), the spacious Victorian room boasting its own in-room facilities inspired by the French tradition, and the Norman and Jenny rooms sharing the large original house bathroom. All our bathrooms have large cast-iron tubs and all have showers, handbasins and toilets. Our bedrooms are lavishly furnished with Persian rugs and heavy curtains to block out light and noise to ensure the best possible rest.

Breakfasts are made to order in our downstairs kitchen and served in the adjacent dining-room. We can cater for your special dietary needs. Just let us know when you book so that we can be best prepared. All of our breakfasts are made from the freshest available produce. Our rose dining-room features linen damask tablecloths, silver cutlery and fine bone china. Relax in the comfort of this spacious room and enjoy your breakfast in style.

In the shared lounges , the richly furnished huge front parlour can be a theatrette with its video projector and hi fi sound system, Sky digital TV is available in house , and a PC is available for those who have not brought their own. Access to our wireless broadband internet connection is available throughout the house if you have brought your own device..

Braemar is a smoke free environment.We share our home with a small cat and at least two toy poodles. We are pet-friendly if you have your own pet with you, just ring before-hand to discuss.

Being located in the Auckland CBD means that cinemas, theatres, cafes and restaurants are all just a short walk away. We are also close to several large parks and are fortunate to have many places to sit and reflect in their leafy green beauty..

Our room rates range from $225 to $350 per night, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax.
